It’s been a little while since I wrote about my trip to Bath and blogged about my visit to Mr B’s Emporium of Reading Delights. Now I’m back with another beautiful Bath bookshop for you! I did not know much about Topping & Company before I visited, but I’m so very glad I found the time to go. It was a wonderful shelter from the rain and I should have stayed put, curled up with a cup of coffee and a book – I got soaked as soon as I left the shop (which is why I unfortunately didn’t get a photo of the shop front!).
I visited Bath recently (find out more about that here) and no trip is complete without checking out the local bookshops. I first heard about Mr B’s Emporium of Reading Delights a few years ago. I heard all about the helpful booksellers and the wonderful children’s section, so I couldn’t wait to visit!
As you walk through the door, you’re greeted with lots and lots of lovely fiction and a display table stacked with curated titles. I’ve mentioned in my Tour of London Bookshops posts that curated tables are really important to me. I visit a lot of bookshops and it’d be incredibly boring if every display table looked the same!
I visited Book and Kitchen on the same day I went to Portobello Market and Holland Park last July. Why it has taken me over 15 months to write about Book and Kitchen, I couldn’t really tell you, except I did accidentally delete 100+ photos I took inside the bookshop shortly after visiting (because I thought I had them backed up. I hadn’t). Luckily, I did save the best ones below! I can’t be sure that the bookshop still looks exactly the same, so you’ll just have to visit yourself and find out!
I first came across Book and Kitchen on This Is Your Kingdom, a lovely blog all about the wonderful things you can do in the UK, often little-known. It sounded like the perfect bookshop for me so I made sure it was next on my tour of London’s bookshops.
